Paediatric Emergencies

The only private hospital in Cádiz with 24-hour paediatric emergencies.

Why does it matter

Healthcare tailored to your age and development

Urgent paediatric care requires a specific approach, adapted to each stage of development. The illnesses, symptoms, and response to treatment in children are different from those in adults, making it essential to have professionals specialising in paediatrics.

Having paediatricians in A&E allows for a more precise assessment, an accurate diagnosis, and age-appropriate treatment, reducing risks and improving the quality of care.

More accurate diagnosis

Paediatricians are familiar with the disease patterns specific to each stage. Inconsolable crying, a fever without an obvious source, or difficulty breathing have different interpretations depending on age.

Tailored medication and tests

Dosing, analytical reference values, and alert thresholds in paediatrics differ from adults. The paediatric specialist works with these parameters confidently.

Managing fear and distress

The urgency affects the whole family. We know how to communicate with the child according to their age and support the parents with clear and reassuring information.

Response to critical situations

Febrile seizures, severe allergic reactions, or acute respiratory distress require protocols and materials adapted to the patient's size and weight.

When to seek help

Situations requiring urgent attention

If your child presents any of these symptoms, don't wait. We are available 24 hours a day, without an appointment.

High or persistent fever

Especially in infants under 3 months old, or when the temperature exceeds 39°C and does not respond to usual medication.

Shortness of breath

Laboured breathing, noisy breathing, blue lips or nails, or marked intercostal retractions.

Injuries and bumps

Falls with possible fractures, blows to the head, or wounds requiring stitches. If they do not cry immediately after a blow, urgent assessment is required.

Vomiting, severe diarrhoea or dehydration

When liquids are not tolerated, sunken eyes, crying without tears, or if it lasts longer than 24 hours.

Allergies and severe reactions

Widespread skin rashes, swelling of the lips or eyelids, difficulty swallowing or any sudden allergic reaction.

Seizures or loss of consciousness

Any seizure episode, loss of consciousness or sudden alteration in the level of consciousness requires immediate urgent attention.
